On behalf of all the coaches of the U16 group we congratulate you all on your achievements this season. The dedication, hard work and commitment you have given to the rugby club have been of the highest level and we feel privileged to have been a part of your coaching team.
Our season saw us win the Al Ain 7’s Cup by our A Team with our B Team being runners up. Man of the match for the B Team being Christy McCormick. The following describes some of the highlights from our season:
- We narrowly lost to Al Ain in the League in a hard fought game
- Abu Dhabi 7’s, where we were pipped at the post in the finals
- The Dubai College Tournament saw us reach the semi finals
- Wins over the Abu Dhabi French, Dubai Exiles and Hurricanes
- The Dubai Exiles Tournament where we were narrowly defeated in the final
- The Dubai College 10s Tournament was next with a narrow defeat in the final
- We achieved a place in the semi final of the League Championship with Abu Dhabi missing out after a hard fought match which showed a lot of courage from all involved
With a number of the squad members being chosen for the Arabian Gulf side and representing the rugby club at a higher age level culminating in the game at the World Cup 7’s it is fair to say that the squads achievements speak for themselves and you, the players, can be proud of your performance this season.
Once again thank you for your hard work and commitment to the Abu Dhabi Harlequins Rugby Club U16’s squad.
