Campaign off to a flying start

Well done and Congrats to the boys this weekend
The Quins started off their Gulf Cup Campaign in Style with a clinical performance that boasted 4 tries, a drop goal and fantastic fitness to see them home 39-18 (13-8 Halftime).
It took about 25 mins for the Quins to settle and shed off all the cobwebs as they took a narrow lead at halftime in their first game back. The Quins went down early and had to fight back from a 8-0 deficit.
A bursting try from debutant Thomas Fisher and Man of the match put the Quins on the scoreboard for the first try of the season.
The Boys went into halftime 13-8 up but the Hurricanes came back fighting and like New Zealand yesterday (but to no effect ;-)) kicked a cross kick to run in their 2nd try moments after the 2nd half started. This put them up 13-15.
Moments later the Quins were on the attack putting Murray Strang in a great position to drop it through the posts and bring the lead back to the Quins 16-15. Poor discipline later gave the Hurricanes the advantage and saw them take the lead 16-18.
The lead once again came our way when Murray slotted a penalty which would begin the Quins Onslaught 19-18.
With 20 minutes to go the effect of the harsh temperature and fatigue started to take its toll and it was noticeable that the pre season efforts that the Quins have been putting in paid off. At this time the Hurricanes would have already replaced all their subs onto the pitch. The Quins looked far sharper and just about a full bench of replacements were still at hand.
We managed 3 more tries taking the game away from the the Hurricanes in the last 20mins of the game. It was a very clinical fast paced game that saw Tom Fisher score 2 tries, Charlie Lilley flying down the line and bashing his way over for his try and Murray running in a fantastic try of individual brilliance.
This also saw Murray claim a full house of scores with a try, penalty, conversion and a fantastic DROP GOAL.
Well done boys
