INSURANCE CLAIMS PROCESS


The Insurance cover provided serves only as a backup insurance in cases where:


1) The player’s own medical insurance policy excludes Rugby;

2) The sum insured under the player's own medical insurance policy is exhausted;

3) Mediclinic Parkview (DXB), Mediclinic Al Noor (AUH) and Kings College Dubai (DXB) are not covered under the player’s own medical insurance


A formal rejection needs to be provided from your own insurance company on the basis of one of the above reasons in order to claim under our Rugby policy. Under no circumstances shall a claim be admissible if a member has an expired visa.


The rugby policy is on a pre- approval basis for direct billing at:


1) Mediclinic Parkview (DXB);

2) Mediclinic Al Noor (AUH);

3) Kings College Dubai (DXB)


Any outpatient visits are on a pay and claim basis and any planned inpatient surgery/procedure is on a direct billing basis with pre-approval required. The pre-approval can take between 48-72 hours (in line with the insurance authority guidelines).


This policy is not linked with your Emirates ID and will not appear in the hospital’s system under your name.

 

Please note that when claiming under your own insurance, all insurance companies in UAE are closed on the weekend and only the Third-Party administrators/in-house claims teams are open to administer claims. Any approvals exceeding AED 1,500 (depending on the insurer’s limits) requires the insurance company’s approval which usually comes through on Monday (with the exception of emergencies, which are covered by law in any hospital in the UAE without any pre-approval requirement and can then later be claimed from the medical insurer).
